Greg
A lifetime fisherman, Greg began his lake
management career in 1991 while an undergraduate in biology. He went on
join a lake management company where the desire for more knowledge led him
to obtain a Masters in Fisheries from the University of Georgia in 1998.
Greg founded Aquatic Environmental Services, Inc (AES) in 1996. Time has
flown and it does not seem like he has been working on ponds for 20 years
now.
Greg oversees the day to day operations of
the company with the main focus in the Fishery Management Division. He
travels the southeast from Virginia to Mississippi helping clients in their
quest for the fish of their dreams. Many days are spent in the office, but
you will still find him on one of two electrofishing boats about 50 days a
year. Greg has written numerous pond management articles, conducted fishery
seminars and worked on literally thousands of ponds and lakes. Greg can
tackle most fishery issues but realizes lakes are a dynamic ever changing
environment that requires innovative steps to meet tomorrow’s goals. His
spare time these days are spent with his family, spending time with his two
boys in the great outdoors.
Matt
Matt joined Aquatic Environmental Services
team in 2006 after graduating from the famed fishery program at Auburn
University. During his time at Auburn, he worked at the Ireland Center where
he assisted researchers studying the effects of striped bass stocking on
largemouth and spotted bass; the distribution, abundance, and population
characteristics of shoal bass in tributaries of the Chattahoochee River,
Alabama; as well as the effects of tournament fishing on dispersal,
population characteristics, and mortality of black bass in Lake Martin,
Alabama. At the Ireland Center, he also aged thousand of sunfish via
sagittal otoliths and maintained research ponds (i.e. fertilization,
sampling, etc.).
Matt is supervisor of the Fisheries
Management Division at Aquatic Environmental. In his five years he has seen
it all in fish management. He is a strong reason AES is one of the leaders
in growing some of the largest bass around. He is responsible for all
electrofishing surveys and develops management plans for small ¼ acre ponds
to lakes hundreds of acres all across the Southeast. He is also develops
fish stocking plans and creates lake habitat designs. When times call for
assistance he is quick to help with: pond stocking, herbicide applications,
aeration/fountain sales and installation, fish habitat installation,
lime/fertilizer applications and water quality monitoring.
Matt enjoys spending time outdoors and
loves to fish even though he is not any good at it.
Josh
After graduating from West Georgia in 2008
with his Bachelor of Science in Biology he joined the AES team. He quickly
worked his way into lead biologist conducting our fish stocking. You can
usually find him out in the field on the shock boat conducting fish
population surveys or stocking ponds. Josh is the first person you talk
with on stocking. Then he works with hatcheries and clients to route your
fish properly to their new home. Josh not only stocks the fish but develops
custom stocking plans to maximize your pond and reach the goals you desire
whether that be big Bass, big Bluegill, or other species. Josh is our bass
fishing expert spending a lot of this time on the big lakes fishing Bass
Tournaments. He also enjoys hunting anything that’s in season, and spending
time with his family and friends.
