Your lake's water temperature is a basic and easy water quality parameter to check. But knowing the water temperature is critical in implementing some management inputs, such as if the water is warm enough for fertilizer applications, or use of some herbicides/algaecides, as well as determining if your lake is ready for stocking trout in the fall. 

Comes with a case to protect against shattering when not in use. These are the same thermometers we have rolling around in our work trucks.
